Deep at night - a cold breeze approached I had a vision that cast a spell on me I enjoyed it - from the bottom of my heart and then it got me - the virus in my veins 'cause it will all come down I feel it in the way we touch - silent after all I roam - where they turn wishes into facts where falling darkness - covers ugliness sell a young smile - show that women surrender to their credit-cards that's it, the job I've got to do - believe 'cause it will all come down I feel it in the way we touch - silent after all Face the abyss, sentiments in black love lies slowly bleeding there ain't no turning back No spear will hit you, likely to rebound execute yourself, the cost you'll have to count in Cincinnati Road, Cincinnati Road I can't say - how the story has begun answers - I just don't wanna know No involvement - when you're smiling at the mirror-ball simple - and stupid all the time But it will all come down Hope is sacrificed to life Face the abyss, sentiments in black love lies slowly bleeding there ain't no turning back No spear will hit you, likely to rebound execute yourself, the cost you'll have to count in Cincinnati Road, Cincinnati Road, Cincinnati Road The night surrounds you - treasures to reveal a kind of membership that made you sign the deal In those hours - I let my longings flow now I'm locked away and got no place to go Which direction should I go? you turn away like the clown who leaves a babbling crowd Crying - it almost feels like dying you turn away like the clown who leaves a babbling crowd Will I break this curfew - tonight to rescue me Straining at the leash you cry: "the tide is rising, high" And it all will fade away - away He was found, bend in a pool of blood naked - the mirror-ball was red all she stated to the cops: "the river runs - into the sea" silent, but someone heard the shot 'cause it will all come down love is sacrificed to life Face the abyss, sentiments in black Love lies slowly bleeding there ain't no turning back no spear will hit you, likely to rebound execute yourself, the cost you have to count in Cincinnati Road, Cincinnati Road

Searching the ground - we both used to play on A scratch on my soul - still reminds me of you This place is timeless - in healing for future Every step I've walked ahead - you did in reverse Can - you feel it Can - you light up my mind Our goals hung high Never swallowed our pride Can - you feel it Can - you lift up my life To higher skies Have you swallowed our pride Now - I'm aware - of your mortal ambitions The vision - of luck - has been taken by truth Your final curtain - won't open for encores That's what you should bear in mind Dreaming your instant dreams Can - you feel it Can - you light up my mind Our goals hung high Never swallowed our pride Can - you feel it Can - you lift up my life To higher skies Have you swallowed our pride Can - you feel it Can - you light up my mind Our goals hung high Never swallowed our pride Can - you feel it Can - you lift up my life To higher skies Have you swallowed our pride

Winters of emotions - were crawling through her mind Awakening the scent of ancient times Reaching for these seasons - while trying to pretend Brave worlds showing up in any kind She often thought of jagged-edged arrows - remaining in her heart Pain was on this path she followed, tearing her apart If you only took my hand I showed you - a way to carry on To claim your stakes in life no matter - what else turns out wrong Lost in silence, killed like a mockingbird The wound might be healed - the scar won't stop to hurt Watch the thin red line - wherever you see it Take her back to life - truth will show us the way is it the end? or just a long road to nowhere - calling again Yes, it's a long road to nowhere - calling again Has she seen the torches - writing on the wall The sentence ends "...but still judged far too light" Recognize the voices, can you hear them call The yearnings of a thousand leaving nights Thinking of the jagged-edged arrows - remaining in our hearts Pain is on this path we follow - tearing us apart Lost in silence, killed like a mockingbird The wound might be healed - the scar won't stop to hurt Watch the thin red line - wherever it will be Look behind the scenes - truth will show us the way It's all on this road And it's a long road to nowhere - calling again Yes, it's a long road to nowhere - calling again Watch the thin red line - wherever you see it Take her back to life - truth will show us the way is that the end? or just a long road to nowhere - calling again Yes, it's a long road to nowhere Watch the thin red line - wherever you see it Take her back to life - truth will show us the way Catch hold of this rope - Who keeps his head up high never lives in vain Who keeps his head up high never lives in vain

about

Coming up with a concept album with only their second CD demands a lot of courage and confidence in their own capabilities. "Zarah - A Teartown Story" is the title of the new work by the Hamburg progressive rock formation Ricochet. With it, the quintet proves that the years spent working on the concept were anything but wasted The vast diversity of this album is impressive: from the melancholy, depressive-sounding piano ballad entitled "Final Curtain" through to the progressive mid-tempo rocker "Red Line" right though to the instrumental firework "Disobedience", the entire range of the genre is exhausted. Yet each and every one of these songs only reveals its true strength and power of expression when seen in the overall context of the album - for each song has its own significance within the concept, and expresses a certain mood and situation. Yet what exactly IS the concept behind "Zarah"? "Put simply, it is about the short and painful life of a young girl - from her abuse through to the murder of the culprit, through to her suicide during her period in jail", says drummer Jan Keimer. Yet it is actually about much more, too. It is about the anonymity of the city, the fear of missed chances, the burden of the past and of life itself - yet, despite all the gloomy or melancholy elements and the tragic end of the protagonist, there is nevertheless the recognition that life goes on and there is still hope. However, above all, it is the expression of various emotions, emphasised by music which is just as diverse.
